Toilet Talk

Did you know that only toilet paper and human waste should be flushed down the toilet?

Here is a photo of a few things we have found in our sewer system:

These items don't break down like toilet paper does and clog the system. This can create an expensive problem for our Wastewater Department to fix. Let's do our best to keep these things out of our sewers and the right waste in our sewers!

Dumpster with WipesWipes

The label might say "flushable," but disposable wipes and other products will clog sewer lines and damage pumps, lift stations and other equipment. Not only are these problems expensive to fix, they can also cause raw sewage overflows into homes, businesses and local waterways. So, think trash, not toilets!

  • Disposable wipes and diapers should not be flushed down the toilet.
  • Don't flush dental floss.
  • Don't dispose of household grease down the sink or garbage disposal.

Sump pumps should not be connected to your sanitary sewer.
